Are all hair bleaching bad?
Bleaching is a chemical process to alter the aesthetics of our hair and, obviously, like any other chemical procedure, it will always be more damaging than leaving our hair natural. It is definitely an aggressive procedure with consequences that alter the integrity of your hair. However, it should be noted that there are different formulas, procedures and techniques to do so. For its success, here are some basic recommendations:
Never bleach your hair at home: Always go to an experienced professional. A good bleaching treatment by an experienced colorist is an expensive treatment. These people invest in their career and use quality products, so if you cannot afford it, it is better to forego a cheap treatment in the hands of inexperienced people who would put the health of your hair at risk.
Make sure they use the best products: Nowadays there are vegan bleaches and activators, enriched with natural oils and products that rebuild the hair's natural keratin while they act.
Consider your hair's capabilities: The more radical the change or the more intense the bleaching, the greater the risk. If your hair is dyed dark and you use power tools regularly, it's almost impossible not to damage your hair with bleaching. Our recommendation is to check with your colorist to see what lightness level your hair can safely reach.
Prep your hair: Your hair should be healthy and moisturized to avoid damage during the process. Use peptide-enriched shampoos and masks before and after your chemical process.
Follow the recommendations of specialists: Your stylist will probably recommend you use special products to care for your hair after the procedure. Always use moisturizing masks; remember that conditioners only detangle hair, while hair masks and treatments are what really do the work.
Avoid: Excessive sun exposure, tanning beds, wearing or sleeping with wet hair, swimming pools, and all types of heat tools. These are things that slowly weaken chemically processed hair, especially bleached hair.
Never, ever let someone process your bleaching process with heat. The product instructions say so, however, some people choose to use heat, some clients even ask for it to save a few minutes, but the consequences are serious. Remember that a good service takes time.
