Hispanic Heritage Month 2024


It's already September, and for Mexicans there is a festive air, full of pozole, chiles en nogada and the Grito de Independencia.


In my ignorance, it was only recently that I realized that Latin Americans have more in common than just language. Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua all celebrate their independence on September 15; on September 16, Mexico follows with the celebration, and then Chile on September 18. Finally, on September 21, Belize does the same. And if you keep digging, you'll find gastronomy, history, and much more!



Although each country is diametrically different, Hispanic Heritage Month is the perfect excuse to celebrate together. I know that nationalism sometimes leads us to separate ourselves, but let's show the world our unity at least during this month, from September 15 to October 15. Let's celebrate and enjoy together and in harmony the advances and the prominence that this month gives us to educate, share and celebrate the pride of being Hispanic.
